Rob Haskell is renowned as an energetic caller with a great sense of fun. Working either with a band or on his own with CDs and minidisks with the best current music, he is available for all types of functions: wedding receptions, birthday and retirement parties, fund-raisers, school or club social events and even French and German twinning events for a taste of English tradition and culture!
During the last 9 years he has worked all over England, performing with many bands such as Peeping Tom and Stomp and local bands Liquid Engineering, Mrs Widgery’s Lodger, Stubble and Rufus Return.
Rob has called at dances in many unusual places including aircraft hangars and on board various ships (including HMS Victory) and in 1997 toured Northern China with Victory Morris and held 4 ceilidhs - at Nanking University and in and around Tianjin. (2 of these with the help of an interpreter)!
Rob is happy to travel
(distance no object) and would like to hear from anyone who is
what the audiences say...
"the most fun-filled and energetic caller ever" - St Anthony’s School, Titchfield
"You did wonderfully at our party. We were all made whirled under your direction" - Nanking University, China (direct translation from chinese, assume they mean dizzy)
"one of our most popular local barn-dance callers...Rob, wearing headphones & radio-mike, careering round the dance floor from set to set giving a helping hand is a sight familiar to many of us" - book review
"An amazingly enthusiastic caller who will leave you in no doubts what steps to take." - Folk on Tap.
